History Club


Overview

The History Club is a student organization designed to promote the enjoyment of history among OSU students, and to promote interaction among undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty.

History Club members are also encouraged to attend events sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta, OSU's professional history organization. Please see our events page and calendar for more information.

  • Tuesday, August 22 – History Majors Orientation (mandatory), 5 pm, Murray Parlor
  • Friday, August 25 --  History Trivia Night with prizes and food, 6 pm, S. Murray 130 
  • Wednesday, August 30 -- Catherine Seagraves, "From OSU History Major to Foreign Service," 4 pm, Murray Parlor
  • Wednesday, September 13 -- Joel Halcomb, "From OSU History Major to University of East Anglia (Norwich, England) Lecturer" and Phi Beta Kappa induction, 4 pm, Murray Parlor
  • Friday, September 22 -- Panel discussion with Distinguished Alumni Bill Fournet and Matt Stiner, 1 pm, Murray 148
  • Wednesday, September 27 – Book Sale, 9a-4p, Library Lawn (rain location: Murray Parlor)
  • Thursday, September 28 – 12 Years a Slave, with commentary from Dr. Rohrs, 6pm, Murray 148
  • Monday, October 2 – Dr. Jennifer Le Zotte, History of Second-Hand Fashion in the U.S., Murray Parlor, 4 pm
  • Friday, October 13 -- Homecoming Alumni Historical Tours Fundraiser, tours leave S. Murray at 5, 5:50, and 6:30 pm
  • Saturday, October 21 – Field Trip to World War I Museum in Kansas City
  • Thursday, November 16  -- Dr. Doug Miller, History of the Present Lecture, "Indigenous Incarceration: Native American People from Prisoners of War to Prisoners of the Carceral State(s)," 6 pm, Murray Parlor
