My first book Canned: The Rise and Fall of Consumer Confidence in the American Food Industry, was published with the University of California Press in March 2018. Through my Food and Culture class, I have fostered a connection with food producers in our local community, who serve as guest speakers. This has provided an opportunity for community engagement and bringing local experts into the classroom. I have also developed a practicum (i.e. internship) program for History majors, which has paved the way for collaboration with other campus partners and institutions, in addition to connecting students with the broader community. I am a co-organizer of the OSU Food Studies program: foodstudies.okstate.edu.
